Shapedown Express
Posted on Jun 16, 2009 Princeton Nassau Pediatrics is pleased to host Shapedown Express, an innovative six-week family based program for young people ages 10 to 15 for weight and stress management. Group participants will meet weekly in the evening for 1 ½ hour sessions. They will learn and practice skills that ease stress, making it easier to follow through with reasonable eating and fitness goals, which support healthy weight. The program will be run independently by nutritionist Jill Shaffer RD and will be held in our Princeton office.
Shapedown and Shapedown Express are nationally recognized weight management programs, with a behavior-based and developmental skills training approach, which has been well proven. This is the only Shapedown Express program in our area.
Robert Wood Johnson Hospital at Hamilton does offer a free, differently structured Shapedown program for children ages 8-13, and Robert Wood Johnson at New Brunswick offers a program called “A New Weight” for children ages 4-17.

Princeton Nassau Pediatrics is providing the space for this program as a courtesy to our patients, but is not involved in running the program itself.
